Lonergan worked with Xero on their ‘I want to pay that way’ report, exploring payment habits among Australian consumers and how Aussie small businesses adapt to these.
The research uncovered a disconnect in payment expectations between small businesses and consumers.
While 86% of Australians prefer to use a credit or debit card to make payments, only 55% of small businesses offer this payment method.
The data also showed as many as 28% of Australians would look to find another business that accepts more payment options if their preferred option was unavailable.
