Lonergan worked with News.com.au to boldly go where no one has gone before - asking 1,000 Australians their beliefs on whether ET didn’t just phone home, but also contacted Earth.

The research into Australians opinion towards alien life also looked into whether the government is covering up evidence of extraterrestrial contact, if we should have a dedicated hotline for people to report UFO sightings and lastly if they have seen a UFO themselves.

They said “XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX” but our findings found:

• A third of Australians (34%) believe extraterrestrial beings have contacted earth and that we should have a dedicated agency/hotline for UFO sightings (34%).
• 1 in 10 Australians believe they have witnessed a UFO (10%)
• Three out of ten (29%) Australians think the government is covering up evidence of extraterrestrial contact.
