Our latest research with Westpac found almost three-quarters (74%) of Australians are planning a smaller Christmas celebration this year, with a similar amount (72%) looking to reduce their Christmas spending.
We also found that research also found that 74 per cent of Australians would be actively seeking bargains and looking for coupons, deals and cashback offers to help stretch their spending further.
Other key findings:
- On average, Australians are planning to spend $836 in total this Christmas.
- Almost a third of Australians planning to use cashback to help cut back costs this Christmas.
- 32% of Australians are planning to do all their Christmas shopping online this year.
