Corelogic partnered with Lonergan Research to create a study that aimed to profile female Australian property owners, across factors such as the gender breakdown percentage of owners and co-owners, number of properties, current value of properties and level of debt, and experiences/ challenges in buying a property. It also examines the split of home ownership, and why women might not own property.
This was picked up on a number of publications including:
Some of the main findings were:
- 68% of women earn less than $70,000 per year, compared to 49% of men.
- Only 13% of women earn more than $100,000, half the rate of men at 26%.
- On a scale of 0-10, 61% of female respondents rated property ownership as very important.
