Lonergan partners with the ACCC for gaming study

With the tenth and final report published in June 2025, Lonergan has been assisting the ACCC in providing reports to the Treasurer every six months since September 2020. Beginning in February 2020, the Treasurer directed the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) to conduct the Digital Platform Services Inquiry (DPSI), an inquiry into the markets for and supply of digital platform services.

Lonergan’s research provided the ACCC with a better understanding of Australian consumers’ views of digital platforms. This covered usage of various digital platform services, including online messaging and video call services, generative artificial intelligence, online gaming services and more. Our research also looked into consumers’ experiences with digital platforms, focusing on concerns around services that may have caused consumer harm.

The findings from the consumer survey informed the Final Report of the Digital Platform Services Inquiry.
